There's so many I can't ever decide what I want to start next, so I just play video games instead. I just got all the John Green books today though, and I've been itching to read those, so I might have to get started on Looking For Alaska.
On a related note, if anyone cares what I'm reading: Goodreads.
Recently, I've perfected my homemade quesadilla technique and I'm not so selfish that I would keep it to myself.
What I do is: cook it in a pan on the stove. First I rub some olive oil on the sides of the tortillas I'm gonna cook. Put the first tortilla in the pan, then put the cheese on. The key part: sprinkling the cheese just off the edge of the tortilla to get that fried cheese effect. I personally like to put onion in it aswell. Then add the other tortilla and cook both sides until they're just slightly crispy. Et voila!
Amazing. I love mashups of my favourite things.

So much love for this dude. Such an inspiration.
(I realize I've said most of this elsewhere already, but I'm just gonna combine it all in this little blog here.)
Get to the venue for this so-called OCK meet & greet. I had met this girl Amber who was there for OCK too, they send us back to the lounge area where Bebe, Spencer and Pete were. Talked to Bebe and Spencer for a bit. Amber asked what they were doing after tour, I forget what they said they were doing next, but Spencer was all, "after that it's 'top secret.'" We had them all sign our ticket, then we end up taking a pic. Marcus took it, that dude is shorter than I expected. After that I asked Pete for a hug and then said, "nice to meet you." (Laughing at my awkwardness as I type this. Oh dear...)
</end awkward>
Waiting in line shenanigans. Couple spots back there were these girls, couldn't have been more than 14. Travie walks back to his bus from the venue and they scream bloody murder. Later he had to walk past them going to Black Cards bus and they pretty much attacked him with a camera then started hyperventilating at the fact that they just got a picture with him. Another girl made some stupid comment along the lines of, "he acts like a normal person." As opposed to...? So Steph, Atiya and I are standing there, (I'm gonna be politically incorrect for a moment here) a bunch of black guys walk by and for whatever reason Steph finds this odd when she's at shows. Later, a bunch of white guys walk by and I ask her, "did that balance it out?" (You probably had to be there.)
On to the show. Bad Rabbits were first, they were pretty good. In fact, I just downloaded their EP. XV was good, and that's saying a lot cos I'm barely ever a fan of rap. Almost all of his songs mentioned and/or repeated his name though. After he got done, Steph looks at me sarcastically and asks, "what's his name?"
Then, Black Cards, the whole reason I went to this show. Such an amazing performance and so much fun. Loved their chemistry, how Bebe kept giving Pete shit for drinking his Diet Coke, and how Spencer kept giving him the air horn. I don't even remember the setlist I was so into it. It gets to the point where it's like an out-of-body experience and I don't even notice anything else but the music. Like, my thigh was totally cramping up and I didn't give a shit. It was so great seeing Pete so happy on stage, jumping around and sticking his tongue out as he does. I'm so glad he has a friend like Gabe to help guide him and find that kind of happiness. He said the sweetest thing about being lost, finding someone else who's lost, making them feel found and finding yourself in the process.
Here's a shitty iPhone pic:
Then Donnis performed, I didn't even pay attention and sat down for a bit. They made us wait for Travie for about a half an hour. His set was pretty fun. He kept telling these elaborate stories as lead-ins to songs. Pete came out for "Superbad" and when the song was over Travie called him back over and says, "if it wasn't for this motherfucker Gym Class Heroes wouldn't exist." Or something along those lines. It was so cute. Bebe came out for the last chorus of "Billionaire" and when she left Travie was saying how awesome she was and made the comment, "I wanna get into her underwear so fucking bad," then proceeded to say he was kidding. Oh Travie... When the set was done everyone started chanting for an encore. He came back out with the singer from Bad Rabbits and performed "Cupid's Chokehold." It was so fucking good.
Amazing night was amazing. I always forget how good the bass drum feels beating in my chest. <3
Took a road trip to down to Portland. Sarah was hungover, so that was amusing. Went to: The Grotto, Powell's City of Books, Voodoo Doughnut, International Rose Test Garden and went to a few places on Mississippi Avenue. The weather was pretty shitty, typical for the Pacific Northwest and the rose's weren't in bloom, so I didn't get as many pictures as I hoped, but it was still nice. I got some pretty neat stuff that I'm stoked on.
When I was at Powell's I got a pretty rad hardback copy of The Bell Jar, Fight Club, Invisible Monsters and The Jungle Books. Went to a comic book store on Miss Ave and got The Walking Dead and BTVS comics. Then I got an Ugly Doll that looks like a bat, a Dunny and a Smorkin' Labbit.I just had one of the doughnuts and oh my gosh... they taste as good as they made my trunk smell. There's a couple that have Cap'n Crunch Berries and Froot Loops that I can't wait to eat.
After I got back home, my passport had come in the mail today, so I got my booking info all sorted and applyed for my visa. Everything seems to be all in order, haven't gotten an "official" response though. So beyond stoked. :D
Also, we got a deal from AT&T for $200 off an iPad 2 for signing up for a 3G data plan that we can cancel later, so we jumped on that and I'll be getting an iPad 2 in about a month. :)
In other news... squirrel!
Amazing. A must read. I adore this cos it combines my two favourite things: psychology and nerdology.
Had an idea for us to all be able to get together and have some virtual hangs. Tinychat seemed like a good option cos we could all either video/audio or text chat all in one place. Now, since it would be way too difficult to just pick one specific time, I figure just having about a 24 hour window for people to come and go as their schedule permits would be the best. With that said, I've got two dates in mind, to give everyone two options in case they're busy one day or the other. Here's what I've come up with:
If you're in America/Europe: March 25th and April 1st
If you're in Australia/New Zealand: March 26th and April 2nd
So, mark your calendars and be at http://tinychat.com/tweethearts whenever you can. Hopefully we can get enough of us there for extra-awesome times. :)
